How to watch VR porn on PS VR2

PS VR2 has an excellent OLED screen with HDR, 2000 × 2040 per eye. On a PlayStation 5, though, there is no practical way to watch VR porn: the PS5 has no VR web browser and no adult apps. The route that works is Sony's PC adapter, which turns PS VR2 into a SteamVR headset.

What you need

  • The PlayStation VR2 PC adapter: $59.99 / £49.99 / €59.99, released 7 August 2024.
  • A DisplayPort 1.4 cable (standard or Mini DisplayPort), sold separately.
  • A Windows 10 or 11 PC with at least: GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 5500 XT, Intel Core i5-7600 or Ryzen 3 3100, 8 GB of RAM, and Bluetooth 4.0.
  • Steam with SteamVR installed.

What you lose on PC

On PC, PS VR2 does not support HDR, eye tracking, headset feedback, or the adaptive triggers and haptics of its controllers (basic rumble still works). For watching VR video, the one that matters is HDR; the picture is still sharp and has deep OLED blacks.

How to watch

  1. Connect PS VR2 to the PC through the adapter and run the PlayStation VR2 app and SteamVR.
  2. Install a PC VR video player that runs in SteamVR, such as DeoVR, HereSphere or SKYBOX VR. See the best VR video player.
  3. Log in to your membership in the player, or play downloaded files from your PC.

What resolution to choose

PS VR2's screen handles 6K to 8K well, and a PC has no trouble playing large local files. If you download, take the 8K version.

Passthrough (AR) scenes

PS VR2's cameras are black and white, so AR scenes do not work well. Stick to regular 180° VR.

Is it the right headset for this?
